Nothing. Melisma does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no user profile. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking technologies, or third-party SDKs, and the app makes no network connections.
The words you write, the melodies you tap in or import, the stress corrections you make, and the notes you leave yourself all stay on your device. Melisma never uploads your work. When you import a MIDI, MusicXML or project file, or export one, those files are handled locally by your device and by iOS — we never see or receive them.
In two places, both on your device. The working copy lives in the app's own storage, and a second copy is written to Melisma's Documents folder so your songs survive if iOS reclaims app storage when the device runs low.
Because that folder is part of your device's backup, your songs are included in whatever backup you already make — iCloud, or a computer. That is your backup of your device, under your own Apple Account, and it is how your work reaches a new phone. It is not a Songdeed server, we have no access to it, and nothing is sent to us. If you would rather your songs were not in your iCloud backup, you can exclude Melisma in iOS Settings under your Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Melisma can hand a finished song to Songdeed to start a split sheet. This is the only point at which anything leaves the app, and it works on these terms:
It is user-initiated. It happens when you tap, never in the background, and never automatically. It carries the song title, the collaborator names you typed, and the date — and never the lyric. A split sheet needs who and how much, not the words. You can see exactly what will be carried before you confirm, and declining leaves the song exactly as it was.
Because we collect no data, there is nothing to share, sell, rent, or disclose to third parties. Ever.
Melisma is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy ever changes, we'll post the update on this page and revise the effective date above.
